At the stroke of midnight one year ago, I found myself at a McDonalds drive-through in Wilmington, North Carolina. Had stopped for a snack at the only place open on the way out to the beach with champagne and a friend. The beach was so cold and windy we scrapped that idea and went back to the hotel. A Day’s Inn, to be precise, where we ended up eating junk food and sipping champagne from styrofoam cups . . . mmm! Tacky New Year!

What’s the holiday after Thanxgiving? Stuffgiving, the big December deadline. Even if you don’t personally celebrate Stuffgiving, or Trashmas as I like to call it, you probably feel obliged to hand out a few presents. On time, of course. But stuff hunting is fun, right? NOT. I like disappearing presents. Oh, and plane tickets work too. Anyway, Happy Trashmas.
